First · The honest accounting
What a Shop Visit Really Costs
Price the traditional version fairly and it stops looking traditional: the sick car nursed across town or towed, a ride home scrounged, a day or three of absence, a second ride back, and a counter conversation where the estimate has quietly grown appendices. The wrench work inside all of that costs roughly what ours does. Everything wrapped around it is the tax that mobile repair repeals.
What we bring: the tools, the parts your phone call suggested, the testing equipment, and the patience to explain findings in ordinary English. What you keep: your morning, your commute, and the option to watch every step or none of them.
Second · Scope, stated plainly
What Fits in a Driveway (Nearly Everything)
Brakes at every corner. Batteries, starters, alternators. The cooling circuit's full cast: thermostats, water pumps, both families of hoses. Drive belts. Plugs, coils, and the sensor population. Oil services with genuine inspections. Diagnosis of any warning light the dashboard can produce. Sedans, SUVs, minivans, pickups; imports as a specialty, domestics as neighbors.
What stays at stationary shops, and gets referred with a name we trust: transmission rebuilds, internal engine work, alignment, tire mounting, and refrigerant service. The dividing line is machinery that bolts to a floor, and pretending otherwise would serve nobody.
Third · The local venues
Driveways, Business Parks, and the Odd Vineyard Lot
Home driveways are the classic. Office parks along the 101 corridor host fix-it-during-work appointments smoothly. Apartment and condo lots work with a gate note. And harvest season reliably produces a winery staff lot with a truck that won't start; we've met that truck. If the car sits somewhere legal and safe, it sits in a service bay.

Fourth · Attendance optional
Watch, Ask, or Hand Over a Key
Some customers pull up a chair and narrate along; those visits are genuinely enjoyable, and an informed customer trusts the invoice. Others wave from a window. Plenty leave a key arrangement and approve by text between meetings, photographs attached, decisions documented. All three modes receive identical treatment: findings before figures, figures before labor, removed parts available afterward.
Trust built on evidence survives; trust built on charm expires quarterly. We stock evidence, and the charm rides along at no additional cost.
The last practical detail: weather rarely interferes. A canopy handles Sonoma drizzle, covered parking of any kind handles everything else, and a genuine storm earns a courteous reschedule instead of a dangerous improvisation. The county produces perhaps five unworkable days a year, and we call ahead on all five.
New to the Whole Idea?
Try it once and the waiting room never sees you again. One call prices the visit and claims the slot.
